The SwitchUp Challenge is part of Cisco's approach to supporting France in its digital transition. It aims to support and reward the creation of entrepreneurship projects - using new technologies to solve the societal and environmental challenges of the 21st century thanks to an important ecosystem of committed actors.
After 4 intensive months of mentoring and specialized sessions to support the development of their start-up companies, Cisco and its partners SenseCube and Qwant concluded the 5th edition of this amazing contest. The 6 finalists of the SwitchUp Challenge endeavoured to create and test viable prototypes in an effort to pitch their new found solutions to our jury during Viva Technology.
Their objective? Win this contest in order to perpetuate their project and build the story of an entrepreneurial adventure.
There was no better platform than Vivatech to announce the winner of this challenge. 2 projects were awarded by our special guest Ruba Borno, Chief of Staff at Cisco:
D'un seul geste is a new way of learning first aid gestures based on VR, to make every citizen an actor of his own safety and those of others. Participants are immersed in the heart of the action against the most common risks, and feel real sensations. The module would make it possible to go from a population trained in first aid from 25% to 80% French. See the concept in video >
eVo-Pods provides users with capsules within a network of stations spread across the city, which can convert any bike into an electric vehicle in seconds. The capsules can be unlocked easily through a mobile application. EVo-Pods is a fun, fast and safe mode of transport which reduces citizens' dependence on cars in their everyday travels. Congratulations to the winners of this new edition! This is just the beginning of a great entrepreneurial initiative that will pay off with ongoing support from Cisco, SenseCube and Qwant. Read our blog article (in French)
