New generations with secure technology
As the last day of Vivatech, Saturday was open to the general public to let everyone see tomorrow's innovations and have fun with them! At Cisco, we love making sure that technology is accessible to the greatest number of people. So we set up entertainment for the youngest to discover the world of digital innovation and start-ups, to raise awareness about the confidentiality of their data and cybersecurity in general, to make them experiment with computer development and to make their creativity work.
Viva Tech is the place of innovation and start-ups, so we started the day with a quiz about it.
As one of our flagship themes this year was Cybersecurity, we organised a "Cisco Virus Go" virus hunt game. The youngest were invited to find flashcodes on the Cisco stand, each flashcode corresponding to a letter, all letters forming a secret password, to win a gift!
As a bonus, they received a document raising awareness of good practices in terms of cybersecurity.
Talking about cybersecurity, it was also an opportunity to listen to Eric Greffier, Managing Director of Cisco France, Emmanuel Le Bohec, Cybersecurity expert, and Cécile Bellarosa, our Cybersecurity Marketing expert, about cloud data storage and the GDPR.
They mentioned that even without being published, photos taken through your applications have been sent to the cloud and saved in data centers in France or Europe. This made our young audience realise the importance of reading the General Conditions of Use of the various applications that they use on a daily basis, but also of the crucial nature of what they capture and publish on these platforms.
During our workshop "Become a budding developer", our young shoots were able to make music with fruits ... Yes, you read it right! A fun experience where fruits were plugged to an electrical system, that is itself connected to a computer powered by a code software named Scratch.
In addition, we celebrated innovation on the booth with blue « Cloudy » Floss – a pure moment of delight for young and old!
We were also able to highlight the start-ups on our stand, including Edunao on an Education level as well as Acklio and TellmePlus with a large focus on Internet of Things.
Lastly, this General Public Day stays a great opportunity to walk around the show to see the latest innovations of many large corporations and startups and enjoy for one last time the technological evolutions of tomorrow!
