The CDA investment was made to establish a data network between Hyderabad and Maheshwaram Block (60 km away). It was then extended to a gram panchayat, a Primary Health Center (PHC) and schools in 2017.
It was launched in February 2018 at the World Congress on IT - NASSCOM event by Ravishankar Prasad (Minister of IT - Govt. of India) in the presence of K.T. Rama Rao (Minister of IT – Govt. of Telangana) and other dignitaries.
This PoC (Proof of Concept) in collaboration with IIT, will showcase the ease of deployment of wireless technology (Meraki) by connecting 20 villages in Palghar district in Maharashtra . It will also study behavioral changes after broadband adoption. The aim is to enable the adoption and optimization of technology architectures suitable for rural India.
IIT-B had architected a TV white space based solution but now uses a point to point 5.8 GHz link in the unlicensed band.

CDA gained insights into the execution and commercial modelling of CSC’s low-cost rural Wi-Fi requirements. Cisco has partnered with CSC in supporting DoT’s plan to create Wi-Fi access at 250,000 GPs (village cluster HQs) to demonstrate Cisco’s solution superiority.
CDA successfully demonstrated the Wi-Fi Solution at a CSC in a Haryana village using Meraki Outdoor AP, which met the CSC's expectations on quality, technology, power and cost. Our solution has been deployed widely by CSC since.
CDA has helped implement a first-of-its-kind broadband project using a mix of underground and aerial fibers to provide services to every home, office, school and health centre in Andhra Pradesh. AP Fiber provides on-demand connectivity of 15mbps (households) and up to 1gbps (government or private agencies). It includes telephony, IPTV and broadband services, and enables two way communication between citizens and the Government.
CDA conducted a PoC connecting Eternal Hospital in Jaipur, Rajasthan to Pirawa village. The picture and sound quality of our solution enables efficient remote diagnosis by doctors. In more advanced deployments, probes for temperature, blood pressure, glucose etc. can be added.
In rurban (semi-urban and rural) India, telemedicine can certainly help bridge the gap in getting timely doctoral diagnosis that will in turn expedite next steps of recovery and therefore improve longevity of citizenry.
