The Opportunity

Existing customers may find it difficult and expensive to manage their on-prem phone system.

Any competitors' customers who purchased their product almost 10 years ago and their solution has reached end of life and is no longer supported. Small businesses do not have the resources to keep up with complicated on-prem systems and they are looking for a vendor where they can outsource much of the management and support.

Modern cloud solutions offload much of the management of the solution to the vendor, making it much easier to manage for the customer and giving the customer significantly more flexibility to scale up or down as needed. Cloud solutions are always kept up to date automatically, eliminating the need for customers to manually upgrade their phone system with new software.

This program will target existing competitor on-prem customers in the SMB segment.

For this campaign we are defining SMB as 10-500 users. Many of these customers have purchased their current phone system 10+ years ago and are tired of spending resources maintaining their current systems. Many prospects in the SMB space will be looking to migrate from competitors who are popular with small business.

These solutions provide calling, messaging and contact center in a single solution, so businesses will likely want to transition multiple workloads to replace them in the cloud. There are some competitors that are prime targets due to their lack of a viable cloud UCaaS solution, so many of their customers are searching elsewhere for a cloud calling vendor. However, those same competitors may have strategic partnerships that makes it easy for customers (from a product and offer perspective) to move to the cloud.

For this campaign, we are defining SMB as 10-250 users. Many of these customers might have purchased hastily during the pandemic and are currently unsatisfied with the performance, usability, and limited capabilities.

Many prospects in the SMB space will be looking to switch to alternative meeting solutions that are better suited to meet their SMB needs. There are certain competitors that are prime targets due to their competitive pricing for solutions that lack innovation and critical meetings capabilities that are becoming essential for remote work. However, some of these competitors are perceived to have offers tailored to SMB.
