The solutions were first deployed on 19 February 2019 in Western Australia, and thereafter it expanded to New South Wales in May 2019.
Based on their network requirements, the solutions deployed were as follows:
- Aggregation: ASR9901/9904/9906
- Core: NCS55A1
- BNG: ASR9901
Aussie Broadband deployed the NCS55A1 platform for core routing, and a leaf and spine architecture that gave them the flexibility to scale their capacity on demand. This allowed them to support and increase their number of subscribers by adding in more access technologies and BNG functionalities in the leaf segment easily.
They used the ASR9900 platforms, mixing the ASR9901, ASR9904 and ASR9906 solutions, giving them access technologies and BNG functionalities. This ensured a fault resilient network with large amount of scalability.
