Wireless maps introduce mapping of APs to switches to show the visual relationships on a site or floor with the ability to navigate to Device 360 details via click-through on the switch. The new enhancements allow users to see specific APs as they link to specific switches for planning purposes.

Reporting

New operational reports allow users to learn more about the health of the APs, clients, and applications in their network. The data retention for some of these reports is expanding and now ranges from 30 to 90 days, depending on report type. The reporting capability allows users to schedule reports and send them as email in multiple file formats.

Role-based access control

Granular RBAC extends the current native roles within Cisco DNA Center with the ability to define custom roles, add users to the custom roles, and inherit users from externally authenticated identity systems with consistent audit logging.

Backup and restore

Support is added for complete backup and restore of the entire
database for added protection.

Disaster recovery for 3-node cluster

Cisco DNA Center is introducing geo redundancy support through the disaster recovery feature. This feature effectively creates an active-standby pair of two 3-node clusters that are situated in different locations. Once a pair is created, data is automatically replicated from the active to the standby. RTO and RPO are currently set at 30 minutes, latency support is 250 ms between the clusters, they can be Layer 3 separated, and both automatic as well as manual failover is supported.

ServiceNow closed loop integration

Cisco DNA Center can now automatically resolve open tickets in ServiceNow and other IT service management (ITSM) platforms. When Cisco DNA Assurance detects that a fault has been resolved, it will check for an ITSM ticket. If one exists, it will send a ticket status change with the ticket number to the ITSM system, which will automatically close the open ticket in that system.

Secure license management

Cisco DNA Center now integrates with an on-premises satellite server to facilitate secure license management. Cisco DNA Center can act as proxy for security-sensitive organizations.

System Health Notification

Cisco DNA Center is introducing System Health Notification (SHN). SHN monitors hardware and external connections to services such as Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), IP Address Manager (IPAM), and Connected Mobile Experiences (CMX). If a failure occurs, an SNMP trap is generated and sent out. The notifications can be subscribed through the Cisco DNA Center platform event catalog. A logical topology with monitoring metrics is available on the UI as part of System 360.

Audit logging

The improved audit logging service in Cisco DNA Center provides information about who, what, and when a change was made to either the network devices or to Cisco DNA Center itself. Additionally, the audit log provides information about users (creation, deletion, or role change) as well as login events (login, logout, failed attempts, etc.). The Audit Log UI provides a rolled-up view of temporarily dispersed changes into one high-level item, along with providing the capability to filter based on time or event ID.
