With the introduction of the Cisco SD-WAN solution, NTT DATA has gained the means to flexibly control the WAN connection between its bases around the world and the NTT DATA global network from their headquarters in Japan. According to the company, when the SD-WAN operation started, the contact route and response process should be reviewed and applied if a failure or security problem occurs. From the start of operation to the present, the network operations has been stable, and we believe that we have built a useful foundation for realizing the initial objectives of strengthening security and improving governance.
Mr Takuro Inokoshi Manager NTT DATA Corporation Technology and Innovation General Headquarters Information Technology Management Office System Development Group
NTT DATA uses “Cisco vManage” in the cloud as a centralized management console for vEdge routers installed at each site. As part of the effort to enhance security, the company is also working on the use of SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), which detects threats from a vast amount of log data on network devices and servers, using a data analytics approach. We expect that Cisco vManage, which can manage logs collectively in the cloud, will be used effectively to accelerate the efforts. NTT DATA provides flexible services that meet the needs of group companies, such as development and commercial use, as well as in-house operations for the more secure and governance-oriented NTT DATA global network that has been made possible by SD-WAN. Our aim is to develop this into a foundation that we can then provide to customers.
In addition, the introduction and use of the latest technology in NTT DATA can be shown as a showcase when each business company and business division of the group proposes new solutions to their customers.
