UMY started its transformation by investing approximiately USD 550,000 in routers, switches and access points from Cisco.
Cisco partnered with Packet Data of Indonesia, which supported UMY in meet their needs. The initial project was installing Cisco ASR routers in late 2013.
The second phase was implementing Cisco 4507R+E switches, which consists of a core switch and Cisco 3560X distribution switches.
The third phase commenced in 2014 and included the installation of numerous access points, Cisco 3602I, 2702I & 1702I in various locations throughout the campus. There are currently more than 200 access points installed. UMY aims to install more, especially in outdoor areas.
