Get ready for success, check your settings

Audio: Mute yourself

Muting your audio is a good way to prevent unwanted sound from disturbing the meeting. Background discussions, traffic, etc can be distracting and compromise the audio quality. Be aware of your environment and tap the microphone icon to mute.

Video: Use video with care

Video adds so much value to your Webex meetings, so always turn it on when you can. Be aware of your surroundings and other things your fellow attendees may see.

WiFi or no WiFi: Be careful

If you are attending a meeting on your mobile device and not connected to WiFi, you will automatically connect using your mobile data. You can switch off Use Mobile Data in the settings.

Best practices when you are out and about

1. Warn others of your rocky internet

Sometimes we are in an environment where we are frequently getting disconnected from the network as the internet connection is not always available, like in trains or cars for example. Let others know of your situation and that you might be randomly disconnected. If you know you will be disconnected regularly during the meeting consider joining using audio-only.

2. Be careful of what you say!

When attending a meeting from a mobile device, you could be in a very public environment. You wouldn’t want your competitors to hear your trade secrets, would you? Always be mindful of what you're saying in public places.

3. Safety first

Be aware of your surroundings. If you are driving a car or walking in the street, keep in mind your safety, and the safety of others around you.
